These words of wisdom were spoken by one of the top internet marketers of our time, Mr. Eben Pagan.
And what he says is so true.
This, right here right now, is the information age. More and more people are starting to understand that and are slowly moving towards this business model.
If you think about, the old mentality behind working hard, earning a steady pay check, and then eventually retiring with your 401k or whatever retirement plan you have in your country….is a broken model.
First of all, why would you want to wait until you’re 65 before you start enjoying your life?!
You’ll be too old by then!
You need to enjoy life right now! While you’re young and able. Not to say that you can’t enjoy life when you’re 65, but why wait so long?
Life is way too short to work 40 years of your life and then find out that your retirement plan has either been wiped out, or cut in half because some silly CEO ran the company into the ground.
You need to take matters into your own hands.
You need to stop living in the past and move forward with the future.…
This is a great little story by Loren Eiseley that I found online today, and it reminds me so much about the journey I’ve had coaching and helping people to change their lifestyle in this business…
The Starfish Story
Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.
He came closer still and called out “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”
The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”
“I must ask, then, …
Dude: “Wait… I’m confused. I thought I knew what I was doing. Ummmm….huh? What was I saying again?”
Is this what you’re doing on Facebook?
Trying to position yourself as a leader, but when you get on there you really have no idea what you’re doing?
Hey it’s ok. This guy got away with it for years.
But that’s not what we’re talking about here. We’re talking about your career. Your business. Your livelihood.
Facebook has become the Mecca for “newbie” network marketers. If you’re just getting started in online marketing, chances are, you’re going to head to Facebook first. And if you’re guilty of doing this, hey it’s ok, Facebook is great…..IF you know how to leverage it properly.
The problem is, most people who are just getting started, have no clue what they are doing. They jump on Facebook thinking it’s this haven for leads from all over the world, and all they have to do is make tons of friends, and their business opportunity will take care of the rest.
That’s what every single person on Facebook is thinking as well.
So if you get a large group of people coming together using the guise of …
So what am I talking about here?
The number 1 mistake? How did I chose this out of a list of hundreds of mistakes that I see Network Marketers make on a daily basis?
In order for you to really understand why this is the MOST pressing problem right now with the majority of newbie entrepreneurs who are testing their luck, trying to bring their business (MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Direct Sales, Network Marketing etc…) online, we have to go back to basics.
Remember, there are really only 2 ways to grow your business.
It’s either offline (traditional methods like friends and family, cold calling etc.) OR it’s online (using the Internet to reach millions…)
By now, most people have realized how difficult it can be to speak to an untargeted group of people like your friends and family, or to have the super “salesman” personality you need in order to recruit people off the street. And instead, see the MASSIVE potential in bringing their business online.
However what they don’t realize is that marketing offline and marketing online are 2 completely different worlds.
You see, marketing offline is very simple.
You find the closest human being. Grab them for a …
