Shogun (将軍) [shō'gən] – a military rank and historical title for Commanders in Chief of the Japanese imperial army. The title represented leadership, power, respect and most importantly, success.

Every man is an architect of his own fortune. This has always been one of my favourite phrases – well, aside from “work hard, play hard” – and it is the basis for the way I live my life. I believe that to create your own future is to take charge of your life. But what I don’t believe is that you should have to do it all on your own. Everyone needs a little bit of help along the way. The key is knowing this and wanting to be better. Wanting to make something of yourself. Wanting to win. Wanting to live the dream. As Will Smith said in The Pursuit of Happyness: “You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something? Go get it. Period.”

Welcome to my life. My story is a simple one. I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Truly Asia – as the ad says) and was educated in the US and Australia. I graduated with a Bsc in Finance. I lived in China. I was a financial consultant. I made a decent amount of money. But I hated the 12 hour days, the 6 day a week routine, the monotony, the politics, the monkey suit and the three-foot cubicles. There had to be a better way. So I got out.
Changing Tactics
Welcome to my domain. To an industry that I never thought I would be a part of. To an industry, ironically, that has allowed me to be free of everything that was wrong about the corporate life; and yet, keep all that was right about it. Sure, I was skeptical at first – could anything be that perfect? But I did my due diligence. Followed the greatest minds in the business. Went at it with passion and determination. So began my frenzied race to the top. And in just under a year, made it to the ‘Top 10′ in my business. I haven’t looked back since…
Doing It
Welcome to my mission. It’s a simple one too – to chase the dream and not the competition. Chances are, if you’ve gotten this far in this post, it’s yours too. It’s the dream that with hard work, motivation and dedication, you can achieve success of wealth and, more importantly, the freedom to enjoy life.
