This is one of the most overlooked but important things about this industry that most people will never get. You see it’s all great and good if you are a part of a good business and you understand that you HAVE TO learn how to market, but if you don’t have a good mentor to guide you through the “dark” along your journey, most never become truly successful in their business.
What do I mean?
Simply put, this is a tough industry.
One of the toughest in fact.
And I should know, especially coming from a financial sales background where I had to get CEO’s to tell me how much they earned and where ALL of their assets were and how much they had in the bank. And then after all that, get them to invest a third of their monthly income with my company every single month for 25 years!
Try doing that!
I know what you’re thinking. If I can do that, starting my own business and getting into Network Marketing would be a piece of cake right?
I couldn’t believe how hard it was!
In fact, when I first got started, I felt a lot like most of you guys out there feel. Overwhelmed, misdirected, confused and annoyed as hell about what I really had to do to build a successful Network Marketing business.
Well after all that failure and heartache, I decided that the ONLY way I was going to get the results I was looking for in my business, was to find someone who had what I wanted and stayed as close to them as humanly possible.
So, I searched and searched and finally connected with someone who shared very similar values to me, and to cut the long story short, he became my mentor.
Now I want to make this perfectly clear.
Just because you started off with your upline in some Network Marketing business DOES NOT make them your mentor.
I have personally been in 4 different opportunities myself, before finally figuring out what really works for me, and I can tell you that I never considered any of my uplines as my mentors. I mean they were great guys and some of them were successful, but they didn’t have what I wanted.
What do I mean by that?
Well, almost all of them were offline marketers. They had ZERO online marketing experience. And even though these guys had many good qualities in their own right, they didn’t understand how to build their business online, and that’s exactly what I wanted to do…
Build my business online!
So I decided that the best way to get what I was looking for, was to find someone that had those skills that I wanted to have myself, and get them to teach them to me.
And that’s exactly what I got.
Now, not only did I get guidance, I got the real in’s and out’s of how this business actually works and what is really possible.
I also got to mirror a lot of the techniques and strategies that my mentor used himself in his own marketing campaigns. Now when you have that type of leverage, it’s priceless!
If not for my mentor, I can personally say that I would never have been able to become a top earner in my business and would STILL be working in my financial job. Which would really stink!
So my friends, if you are floundering out there and you can’t figure out what you’re doing wrong inside of your business, you need to do one thing and one thing only….
FIND YOURSELF A GOOD MENTOR.
The rest will take care of itself and fall into place, because now you have direction. Now you have someone who will kick you in the butt when you’re slacking off. Now you have knowledge on how to do things the “right” way. And most importantly, now you have someone to lean on and mastermind with.
This is the ONLY way you will succeed in this business.
STOP trying to do everything by yourself.
It’s much easier to build a successful business with experience and knowledge behind you instead of naivety and confusion.
It’s a fools errand, and everyone else is having fun, except YOU.
Do your homework. Get yourself a mentor.
